Christmas Concert 2025
Our most recent event was our Christmas Concert, which we titled "Rejoice and be Merry", which took place on Sunday 14th December 2025. We enjoyed it hugely, as we think did the large and enthusiastic audience. Mulled wine and shortbread followed, as usual!
Our musical director agreed that it was a "joyful evening of light-hearted, accessible music that gave pleasure to many people." Audience members commented on the "warm atmosphere and delightful variation of music from around the world - thoroughly enjoyed the concert and we were all laughing and smiling at the jokes!"
Some of our merry concert was captured by Nela in our audience...
Spring Concert 2025
In the spring of 2025, on 18th May, we presented a Concert of Anniversaries, featuring music by composers whose birth or death years end in 25. Hiawatha's Wedding Feast and selections from Die Fledermaus were the main works, and we were accompanied by an expanded ensemble of string quintet, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet and keyboard, making for a exciting and full-bodied sound!
A couple of comments from audience members...
"Great concert, well done. Strong dramatic points came across well. I really enjoyed the variety of styles within the programme and that not everything was choral. Ensemble was nicely balanced with the choir."
"Bravo for all your hard work! I was really impressed by the quality and volume of the choir. Also, they did some difficult stuff. Lovely to hear Hiawatha again after so very long. Good crowd, too."

Some "live" videos taken by a member of our audience...
Appropriately enough, after all the jollity of Die Fledermaus we enjoyed a splash of bubbly and nibbles with our audience directly after the concert!

Christmas Concert 2024
